As friends, Rue and I actually go way back to when I first relocated to Charlotte from Jacksonville, FL back in 7th grade. If you’re from the Eastside of Charlotte, in particular, “Idlewild”, you’ve heard of Rueskii Rue. His charismatic character fills the room with fun and positive vibes. No stranger to music, Rue has grown as an artist and as a person, and it is evident in his lyrics.
On this track, ‘Change On Me’, Rue paints the picture of close friends changing on him and the streets giving up on him. Despite setbacks, Rue always finds a way to dig deep and overcome his obstacles. In this video, Directed by Digital Qlipz (myself), the visual storytelling aligns with the music.
